This Cookie Policy is issued by Tatlas within the framework of Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and Law No. 5809 on Electronic Communications, together with the relevant secondary legislation, in order to explain which cookies are used, for what purposes, and what choices are available to you in respect of them. Tatlas employs no advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics cookies.

1. Definition and Operation of Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. On subsequent requests the site reads that file in order to recognise your browser. A cookie does not of itself directly reveal your identity; however, as it may acquire the character of personal data when combined with other information, its use is set out transparently in this policy.
2. Cookies Used and Their Purposes
Tatlas uses strictly necessary session and security cookies only: (a) tatlas_access: carries the short-lived access token that authenticates your session and remains valid for its duration; (b) tatlas_refresh: enables an expired access token to be renewed so that you are not required to sign in again at short intervals; (c) tatlas_csrf: verifies that form and request submissions genuinely originate from your browser, thereby preventing cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks; (d) tatlas_oauth: created temporarily for the duration of the Google authentication flow and deleted upon its completion.
3. Categories of Cookies Not Used
Tatlas employs no advertising or retargeting cookies. No third-party analytics tool, including Google Analytics, is operated. No social media tracking pixels are embedded. Accordingly, the service contains no cookie that profiles users by tracking their behaviour across pages.
4. Absence of a Consent Requirement and Legal Basis
All cookies used are strictly necessary for the provision of a service you have expressly requested, and rest on the legal bases of performance of a contract under Article 5/2-c of the KVKK and legitimate interest under Article 5/2-f. In light of the Personal Data Protection Authority's Guidelines on Cookie Practices and Recital 32 of the GDPR, no separate explicit consent is required in respect of strictly necessary cookies, and you are accordingly not presented with an unnecessary consent notice. Should a non-essential cookie be introduced in future, your explicit consent will be sought before it is placed.
5. Third-Party Content
The taste map view loads map tiles from an external provider. In the course of that request the provider may, as a technical matter, observe your IP address and browser information. This is a standard technical necessity applicable to any website rendering a map and does not involve the placing of cookies on your device on behalf of Tatlas.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
All current browsers offer the ability to view, delete and block cookies, ordinarily accessible through the privacy or site data section of your browser settings. Should you block Tatlas cookies, signing in will not be technically possible and the pages associated with your account will not function, these cookies being a functional necessity rather than a matter of preference.
7. Amendments to this Policy and Contact
Should the cookies used change, this policy and the effective date shown at the head of this page will be updated. Questions and requests concerning our cookie practices may be submitted to us through the channel set out on the Contact page.
